Hi, I'm the hands and heart behind Velvet & Sage.

For years, my favorite part of the week was getting my three girls — and my niece and nephew — ready for school. All that beautiful, thick hair, me with a comb and some good product, and nowhere else I'd rather be. They're grown now, and I've missed it more than I can say. Velvet & Sage is me getting that feeling back: caring for children's natural hair with patience, love, and no rushing.

I treat every head of hair like it's my own family's — because that's exactly how I learned. Healthy scalps, protected edges, low tension, and a child who leaves feeling good about themselves. That's the whole job.

So here's my promise: bring your baby to me and go breathe. Run across the street to Sam's Club or Food City, run down to Walmart, or just sit in your car in peace. Your child is in good hands and you don't have to hover. Drop off, exhale, and come back to a happy kid with beautiful hair. That's the point.

All styling prices include a wash & blow-out (you may opt out — no discount), extension hair on “+ Hair” styles, and standard beads/accessories.

How booking works

Three easy steps

  1. Send an inquiry.

    Tell me about your child and the style you're hoping for.

  2. I reply within the hour.

    During the day I respond within one hour to confirm details and send a deposit link.

  3. A $25 deposit locks it in.

    Your deposit applies to your total. Then it's just you, your child, and a good chair.

Policies

The fine print, kept kind

  • A $25 non-refundable deposit reserves your appointment (applied to your total).
  • Wash & blow-out is included in every style. You may arrive freshly washed and blown out — always welcome, no discount.
  • Please arrive product-free for braided styles. 10-minute grace for late arrivals.
  • Reschedule with 48+ hours' notice.
  • Availability: weekends, Thursday evenings, and select weekday evenings for quick styles (finished by 9 PM). Closed Fridays.
  • I respond to inquiries within one hour during the day.
